Documentation engineering

UNDERSTAND, PRODUCE, STRUCTURE

At the outset, 4D CONCEPT positioned itself on technical documentation authoring. This phase enabled us to gain a deep understanding of business challenges, industrial constraints, and user needs.

1989

Creation of 4D CONCEPT in the documentation engineering segment

1990

Established in western Paris

The development of documentation solutions

Providing tools, industrialising, improving reliability

In response to the limitations of traditional approaches, we develop and integrate solutions designed to structure documentation production. This stage marks the transition from a craft-based approach to an industrialised model.

1995

First AECMA 1000D project & first software tool development

2000

Launch of the Doc’Advance solution

2003

Opening of the Lyon office near Renault-Trucks & first DITA project (modular documentation and applicability to VIN)

2005

XMS publishing solution (XML Make Sense) for the press and media segment.

2007

Opening of the Toulouse office near the Airbus Group.

2008

Thales migrates the Eden program to Doc’Advance

Software publishing

Structuring for the long term, evolving over time

We are developing our model toward publishing software solutions dedicated to technical documentation. This positioning enables us to:

2012

Definition of the concept and first prototypes of "EasyDoc," marking the launch of 4DAM (ADAM)

2013

Opening of the company’s capital and entry of the Maury Imprimeur Group. The ADAM Suite is chosen by Dassault Aviation for its military programs.

2014

Launch of the CODEX iPad and Android Tablet app, an Epub3 and PDF reading platform. Deployment of 4DAM (ADAM) at Airbus Helicopters as part of the H160 project initiative. 4DAM consisted of 4DAM Author (based on the EasyDoc concepts), the 4DAM Manager CSDB, and 4DAM Publisher publishing based on an iText integration.

2016

Integration of Xerox technology for creating visual recognition models for automotive documentation.

2019

TensorFlow machine learning for the creation of visual recognition models for automotive documentation.

2020

Release of the Heysquid content management system and its variants for technical document management, DITA, and news. Dassault Aviation extends the ADAM Suite to the Falcon programs. Naval Group gradually moves to the ADAM Suite, replacing Odissey.

2022

Launch of the ADAM Logistics module for S3000L continuity and ISO27001 certification. Naval Group and 4D CONCEPT launch TAZENDI, the new generation of the ADAM Suite for critical programs.

2025

Visual recognition models (machine learning) based on 3D assets for the industrialisation of the augmented reality feature production chain.

2026

Integration of Mistral AI tools into the software forge, definition of a new approach to software development, and acceleration of roadmaps.
